KMB and LWB Offer Free Rides for People with Disabilities on “International Day of Disabled Persons”

KMB and LWB have supported the “International Day of Disabled Persons” event organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for years. To show our support, KMB and LWB will offer free rides on all its bus routes for people with disabilities and one accompanying carer on Sunday 12 November 2017. To enjoy free ride, passengers holding the “Registration Card for People with Disabilities” need only show their card when boarding the bus, while those holding a personalised Octopus card for “Persons with Disabilities” should swipe their card when boarding. The amount deducted for such Octopus card transactions will be set at $0 on that day.

To meet the needs of the disabled, the KMB and LWB fleets are equipped with the Electronic Bus Stop Announcement System, super-low floor, non-slip handrails and a wheelchair space.

KMB and LWB also sponsor and participate in different local community programmes, include the New Territories Walk for Millions, Dress Casual Day, the Community Chest Corporate Challenge and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service Caring Company Patron’s Club, as well as other initiatives organised by the HKSAR Government, professional bodies, charities and green groups. In addition, KMB’s volunteer club, FRIENDS OF KMB, provides voluntary services to a number of rehabilitation organisations.
