KMB and Long Win Bus Offer Free Rides for the Elderly on "Senior Citizen's Day"
KMB and LWB will offer free rides on all its bus routes (including airport routes) for all people aged 65 and over on Sunday 18 November 2018 (Senior Citizen's Day). To enjoy free rides, eligible passengers holding a Senior Citizen Card, Hong Kong Identity Card or travel documents, need only show their card when boarding the bus, while those holding an Elder Octopus should swipe their card when boarding. The amount deducted for such Octopus card transactions will be set at $0 on that day.
KMB and LWB hope elderly passengers can make good use of the free bus rides on "Senior Citizen's Day" and enjoy a happy Sunday with safe and comfortable bus journeys.
Elderly passengers should observe safety rules on buses and hold the handrails when travelling on buses. In addition, they should make use of the "priority seats" and leave their seat only when the bus has come to a stop. All passengers are also encouraged to take care of the elderly on buses and offer their seat to them. By observing these guidelines, they will be helping to contribute to safe and comfortable bus journeys.
Providing elderly passengers with safe bus journeys has always been KMB and LWB’s priority. Besides being equipped with super-low floor, ramp, non-slip handrails and a wheelchair space, the entire KMB and LWB fleet is equipped with the Electronic Bus Stop Announcement System.
Passengers with enquiries should contact the KMB customer service hotline 2745-4466 or the LWB customer service hotline 2261-2791, or browse the KMB website www.kmb.hk or the LWB website www.lwb.hk.
