KMB and LWB Offer Free Rides for Disabled on “International Day of Persons with Disabilities”

KMB and LWB supportFree Ride Day” as part of the 2020 International Day of Persons with Disabilities. On 8 November 2020 (Sunday), both KMB and LWB will offer people with disabilities and one accompanying carer free rides on their bus journeys, covering all KMB and LWB bus routes (including Airport routes).

Passengers holding the “Registration Card for People with Disabilities” need to show their card when boarding the bus, while those holding a personalised Octopus card for “Persons with Disabilities” should tap their card. The amount deducted for such Octopus transactions will be set at $0 on that day.

KMB and LWB bus fleets are equipped with various accessible facilities, including super-low floor, ramp, wide entrance and exit doors, non-slip flooring and a wheelchair space. Some buses provide two parking positions for wheelchairs. They are mainly assigned on routes travelling via hospitals, and stickers showing “Double Wheelchair Parking Space” are displayed on the windshield. Inside the compartment, we have the “Bus Stopping” Indicator and the Bus Stop Announcement System to remind passengers with bus stop information by sound and text. App1933, a smartphone app, also has a reminding function to help passengers.

Passengers may call the KMB Customer Service Hotline on 2745-4466 or Long Win Customer Service Hotline on 2261-2791, LiveChat with us on App1933 or the KMB and LWB websites for more details.
