Six LWB routes to travel via Tuen Mun Chek Lap Kok Tunnel from 28 Dec Ten Minutes Direct to the Airport from TMCLKT Interchange

As the Tuen Mun - Chek Lap Kok Tunnel (TMCLKT) is about to open, Long Win Bus Company Limited (LWB) announces today details of the first phase of bus route diversion in Tuen Mun District, comprising six routes (see details below). The new arrangement includes three Airbus “A” Routes, two North Lantau External “E” Routes and one Overnight Airbus “NA” Route, with wider service network and lower fare:

• New whole-day Airbus Route A34 [Hung Shui Kiu (Hung Yuen Road) ⇋ Airport (GTC)]
• Route A33 [Tuen Mun Road Bus Interchange (Kowloon-bound) ⇋ Airport (GTC)]
• Route A33X [Tuen Mun (Fu Tai) ⇋ Airport (GTC)]
• Route E33 [Tuen Mun Central ⇋ Airport (GTC), via Tung Chung]
• Route E33P [Tuen Mun Siu Hong Station (South) ⇋ Airport (GTC), via Tung Chung]
• Route NA33 [Tuen Mun (Fu Tai) ⇋ Airport (Cathay Pacific City)]

The Government has announced that the TMCLKT will commence operation on 27 December. With the approval of the Transport Department, in the first phase, LWB will implement service adjustments for the six routes serving Tuen Mun District from 00:00 on 28 December (Monday). Route NA33, the first route to travel via the TMCLKT, will depart from Cathay Pacific City at 00:17 on 28 December to Tuen Mun Fu Tai Estate. Bus routes in Yuen Long District are to be rerouted in the second phase and the date will be later announced by the Transport Department.

Fares of “A” Routes in Tuen Mun Reduce Significantly

After the opening of the TMCLKT, Airbus “A” Routes serving Tuen Mun will no longer travel via Lantau Link and North Lantau Highway, shortening the travel distance and time significantly. It is fast and convenient for passengers to travel from TMCLKT Interchange to the Airport, with a journey time of only ten minutes (depending on the real-time traffic situation). 

The terminus of Route A33, currently at Yuet Wu Villa Bus Terminus, will be relocated to Tuen Mun Road Bus Interchange (Kowloon-bound). In morning peak hours, the frequency of the route will be strengthened to 20 minutes. Under the new arrangement, Route A33X will cover new service area by travelling via Castle Peak Road - San Hui (near Prime View Garden) and Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road (near San Hui). 

As the travelling distance is reduced, the fare of the “A” routes will be reduced from $27.7 to $15.

New Airport Route A34 Provides Whole-day service to Area 54 in Tuen Mun

To provide Airbus services for the new development in Tuen Mun, new Airport Route A34, a replacement for the one-trip-per-day Route A33P [Tuen Mun (Chung Uk Tsuen) → Airport (GTC)], will operate between Hung Shui Kiu and the Airport, travelling via Lam Tei, Siu Hong, Yan Tin, Tsz Tin, Area 54 in Tuen Mun (Yan Po Road, Hing Kwai Street), Po Tin and Leung King.

E33 & E33P: Reduced Fare to $12

For Route NA33, the fare will drop from $40 to $28. The route will travel via Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Hong Kong Port first, and the terminus will be relocated to Cathay Pacific City. An additional trip (to the Airport) will depart from Tuen Mun (Fu Tai) at 04:15. Details and fares of the 6 routes will be as follows:

Remarks*: Area without a direct service at the moment that will be covered under the new arrangement.

# Two trial trips will be launched at 18:30 and 19:00 until 31 March 2021. 

Bus Interchange Discount Remains Applicable

Passengers can enjoy bus interchange discount with designated interchange combinations at TMCLKT Interchange. The current interchange plans: LWB “A” Routes and Route S64 (Tung Chung Yat Tung Estate ⇋ Airport (Circular)), S64X (Tung Chung Yat Tung Estate ⇋ Airport (Circular)), S65 (Tung Chung Mun Tung Estate ⇋ Airport (Circular)), and the KMB Routes Bus Interchange Discount Scheme remain applicable. Examples are as follows: 

Remarks^: Except recreational routes, non-regular routes, racecourse routes, K12, K14, K17 and K18.

At the preliminary stage of the opening of the TMCLKT, LWB will deploy extra staff members at main bus stops to provide assistance to passengers. Passenger notices will be put up to provide passengers with the details of routes and amendment of bus stops. For route amendments in Yuen Long and North District, LWB will review with the Transport Department the implementation of the first phase and continue to work on the follow-up arrangements.
