Eight LWB Routes in Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai Passing by Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel from 20 June

Long Win Bus Company Limited (LWB) announces the latest bus route diversion arrangements of the second phase for Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel (TM-CLKT). Starting from the first departure on 20 June 2021, eight LWB routes to and from Yuen Long/ Tin Shui Wai and the Airport/ Tung Chung will travel via the TM-CLKT to provide a wider service network and value-for-money bus services.

·         Route A36 [Kam Sheung Road Station ⇋ Airport (Ground Transportation Centre)];

·         Route A37 [Long Ping Station ⇋ Airport (Ground Transportation Centre)];

·         Route E36 [Pat Heung Road ⇋ Airport (Ground Transportation Centre)];

·         New Route E36A [Yuen Long (Tak Yip Street) ⇋ Tung Chung (Yat Tung)];

·         Route E37 [Tin Shui Wai Town Centre ⇋ Airport (Ground Transportation Centre)];

·         Route NA36 [Kam Sheung Road Station ⇋ Airport (Cathay Pacific City)];

·         Route NA37 [Tin Shui Wai Town Centre ⇋ Airport (Cathay Pacific City)]; and

·         Route N30 [Yuen Long Station ⇋ Airport (Cheong Tat Road)].

“A” Routes save time and fare

After the opening of the TM-CLKT, it has been operating generally well. With the approval of the Transport Department, in the second phase, LWB will implement service adjustments for the eight routes serving Yuen Long /Tin Shui Wai districts. Airbus “A” Routes serving Yuen Long /Tin Shui Wai districts only require ten to fifteen minutes to arrive TM-CLKT, before taking around ten more minutes to travel  to the Airport (depending on the real-time traffic situation). They no longer travel via Lantau Link and North Lantau Highway, shortening the travel distance and time significantly.

Route A36 will travel via Yuen Long and Tuen Mun (Hung Kiu) before arriving Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Hong Kong Port and the Airport. Its terminus, currently at Long Ping Station, will be relocated to Kam Sheung Road Station. In the morning peak hours, the frequency of the route will be strengthened from 30 – 60 minutes to 15 - 20 minutes. Route A37 will travel via Tin Shui Wai before arriving the Airport and its terminus, currently at Hung Shui Kiu (Hung Yuen Road), will be relocated to Long Ping Station. Due to the reduced travelling distance, the fare of the “A” Routes will be reduced from $27.7 to $18.9.

“E” Route Reorganisation covers more areas

For “E” Routes, new Route E36A will be introduced and travelled from Yuen Long (Tak Yip Street) to Tung Chung North, Mun Tung and Yat Tung via YOHO MALL, Tin Tsz, Tin Yiu and Tuen Mun Central. Route E36 is reorganised from Route E34B and replaced by a new route number. It travels from Pat Heung Road to the Airport via Yuen Long, Tung Chung Town Centre and Airport Cargo Area. Route E37 is reorganised from E34A and replaced by a new route number, which departs from Tin Shui Wai Town Centre, and mainly travels via Tung Chung Town Centre to the Airport Cargo Area and the Airport. The full fare of the ”E” routes is $13.9.

"NA" Routes cater for passengers working in the airport area

In order to take care of those working in the airport area, the late-night service has a corresponding reorganisational plan. The Express Route NA36 [Kam Sheung Road Station ⇋　Airport (Cathay City)], which is reorganised from Route NA34, will travel via Yuen Long, Hung Kiu, Tuen Mun Town Centre, and then go directly to the HZMB Hong Kong Port and the Airport. Route NA37 will serve the residents of Tin Shui Wai and Hung Shui Kiu, in which its catchment area extended to the Wetland Park, Tin Heng and Lam Tei, to facilitate residents to and from the airport island.

As for the temporary arrangements made during the first phase of reorganisation for the extension of Route E32A to Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal/Tung Chung Crescent and the interchange arrangements at Tung Chung Town Centre will be cancelled on the first day of the second phase implementation (i.e. 20 June). The terminus of Tung Chung bound of Route E32A will be reverted to Tung Chung Development Pier. Passengers who travel to and from Tung Chung North, Tuen Mun, Tin Shui Wai and Yuen Long can take Route E36A.

Bus-bus Interchange discount remains applicable

After implementing the route adjustment arrangements, the service area covered by TM-CLKT Interchange will be extended from Tuen Mun to Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai. Passengers can enjoy bus-bus interchange discount with designated route combinations. The current interchange schemes, LWB “A” Routes and Route S64 [Tung Chung Yat Tung Estate ⇋ Airport (Circular)], S64X [Tung Chung Yat Tung Estate ⇋ Airport (Circular)], S65 [Tung Chung Mun Tung Estate ⇋ Airport (Circular)], and the KMB Routes Bus-bus Interchange Discount Scheme* remain applicable.

Remarks*: Except KMB recreational routes, non-regular routes, racecourse routes, and Routes K12, K14, K17 and K18.

Introduce new Route E36P travelling between Sheung Tsuen/ Kam Tin and Tung Chung/ the Airport

LWB will introduce the new Route E36P (Yuen Long Sheung Tsuen ⇋ Asiaworld Expo), with Monday, 21 June. Route E36P will provide service in the morning and afternoon peak on Mondays to Saturdays (except Public Holidays). The full fare is $13.9. It will depart from Sheung Tsuen, Yuen Long, observe Kam Sheung Road, Kam Tin, Au Tau, Tai Lam Tunnel, Lantau Link, Tung Chung, Airport Supporting Area, Passenger Terminal Building and terminate at AisaWorld-Expo.

LWB will deploy extra staff members at major bus stops to assist passengers. Passenger notices will also be available to provide passengers with the details of routes and amendment of bus stops.
