New Long-haul Bus Service of Routes P960 and P968 to provide passengers a different choice
KMB will launch a “New Long-haul Bus Service”, comprising of Routes P960 [Siu Hong Station (North) ⇌ Wan Chai (North)] and P968 [Long Ping Station/Yuen Long (West) ⇌ Tin Hau] on 18 July 2021 (Sunday). The bus fleet equips with the latest safety features and comfortable seats. Standee is not allowed in the compartment, bringing a brand-new travelling experience to passengers. The full fares are $32.8 and $36.9, respectively.
Routes P960 and P968 provide daily service. Passengers in Tuen Mun District can take Route P960 to Sheung Wan, Central, Admiralty, Wan Chai and Causeway Bay via Tuen Mun Road and Western Harbour Crossing; it is most convenient for working people. It is also the first KMB route travelling between Tuen Mun and Causeway Bay. Passengers in Yuen Long District can take Route P968 and go directly to Sheung Wan, Central, Wan Chai and Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island via Tai Lam Tunnel and Western Harbour Crossing.

The buses deployed for Routes P960 and P968 are mainly equipped with Euro VI environmentally friendly engines, the latest safety features, including Advanced Driver Assistance System, Drowsiness Monitoring System, GreenRoad System and safety belts, etc. As for on-board facilities in the compartment, apart from comfortable seats, the compartments are equipped with curtains, USB charging ports, and free Wi-Fi service will be provided. Coupled with the arrangement that no standee is allowed, all passengers boarding Routes P960 and P968 can enjoy a comfortable and relaxed bus journey.
The Government published a “Public Transport Strategy Study” in 2017, proposing to launch a new type of long-haul bus service on a trial basis. In the 2018-2019 Bus Route Planning Programme, the Transport Department supported KMB to introduce Route P960 and P968 in the form of new long-haul service for providing services between Tuen Mun/Yuen Long and Hong Kong Island.
The “$2 Fare Concession Scheme for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities” and “KMB Monthly Pass” are not applicable on Route P960 and P968.
