KMB launches the most extensive Free Ride Days to share the joy with the public on three consecutive Sundays

The Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (1933) Ltd. (“KMB”) and WeLab Bank, a local virtual bank, will launch “Free KMB Rides” for everyone to enjoy unlimited free rides on designated KMB routes on three consecutive Sundays (i.e., 19 September, 26 September and 3 October). Passengers can enjoy comfortable bus services without paying fare when boarding.

19 September

Route 1A [Sau Mau Ping (Central) Star Ferry] will be the route for kicking off the event. It runs through the heart of Kowloon, bypassing via Yau Tsim Mong, Prince Edward, Kowloon City, San Po Long, Kowloon Bay, and Kwun Tong. Passengers can experience the bustling city by visiting Nathan Road, the multicultural hotspots in Kowloon City and some new shops in old industrial blocks in Kwun Tongs.

26 September

Route 108 [Kai Yip Braemar Hill] is a daytime Cross-Harbour route solely operated by KMB, directly travelling to Causeway Bay, a compact district of chicness.

3 October

Route 96R [Diamond Hill Wong Shek Pier] observes various hiking trails in Sai Kung and Sai Kung Town Center, widespread among hiking and outings lovers.

KMB will reserve bus operating resources, deploy additional outdoor staff, and show a display at the front of the buses to remind passengers for enjoying the free ride experience on the event days.

Using WeLab Debit Card to pay bus fares to enjoy $2 off

From now on to 31 December, passengers using WeLab Debit Card to pay bus fares on e-payment system-enabled KMB buses can enjoy HK$21 off. WeLab Bank also launches an in-bus mobile game on 150 KMB buses. Passengers can earn an additional HK$2 rebate per ride upon completing the game, amounting to a $41 rebate per trip in total.

KMB has installed the e-payment system on more than 1,000 buses that run on 60 routes. It is expected that the entire bus fleet will be equipped with an e-payment system within this year, bring more new travelling experiences to passengers.

Passengers can enjoy free rides by taking Route 1A, 108, and 96R on 19 September, 26 September, and 3 October, respectively.
