The Elderly Can Enjoy More Cross-Harbour Routes on Free Ride Days for Senior Citizens

For the seven weekends starting from tomorrow (6 November), KMB will offer free cross-harbour rides to the elderly. The number of applicable routes will increase from 69 to 81, giving more bus route choices to the senior citizens to explore communities. At the same time, as the technical difficulties have been overcome, the elderly can enjoy the free ride discounts without registering their Octopus card number on club1933.

On 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 27 and 28 November, KMB will offer passengers with Elder Octopus cards free rides on cross-harbour routes operated by KMB through the“Rebate-after-ride” arrangement. The routes applicable to the event increase to 81 and provide more convenience to the elders to choose suitable bus routes to travel to different districts. Please refer to the attached table for more details.

By using the Elder Octopus card or relevant Octopus products to pay the fare, the elderly can enjoy a $2 fare concession through the Octopus Service Points in different districts or via Octopus App after ten working days or within 30 days after the riding. Even if they have not registered as a member of club1933, they can still enjoy the riding discount.

For Senior Citizen’s Day on 21 November, KMB will continue to offer free rides to the elderly on all routes1.

Please refer to the terms and conditions and poster for more information.
