From now on, KMB provides real-time estimated travelling time for particular routes. Passengers may obtain the total journey time of relevant routes through the display screens installed on relevant bus termini, QR codes at bus stops, or the new function Estimated Travelling Time (ETT) on App1933. Some bus stops in Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, and Tin Shui Wai have taken the lead to display the new information, ETT. It is expected to expand the number of locations to 50 gradually.

In addition, KMB has started installing 5G Wi-Fi routers on 200 buses, which travel on Routes P960 and P968, and seven routes travelling via North District, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, and Tin Shui Wai to enhance the travel experience from November.

“Estimated Travelling Time” helps with journey planning

The new function, Estimated Travel Time, estimates the journey time based on the actual traffic conditions. For example, if a traffic incident causes congestion on the road, the ETT will be updated accordingly.

The ETT functions have been started at Tuen Mun Pier Head Bus Terminus, Lung Mun Station, YOHO MALL I, and PARK YOHO, providing bus route recommendations and estimated journey time to Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, Sham Shui Po, Tsuen Wan, and Kowloon Bay. It will be gradually expanded the number of locations to 50, assisting in selecting the most suitable transportation arrangements.

It is also convenient for passengers using App1933 to obtain the Estimated Travelling Time. Passengers may press the bus icon at the top right-hand corner of the homepage on App1933, then click “Estimated Travelling Time”.
