Extra Fare Concessions for Senior Citizens in December Free Rides on KMB Cross-Harbour Routes and R Routes And Rebate in an Easier Way
KMB launches extra fare concessions for senior citizens, offering free rides on up to 81 Cross-Harbour Routes1 and all Recreational Routes (“R Routes”) to the elderly on Saturdays, Sundays and Christmas Holidays in December, in a total of nine days. The “Rebate-after-ride” arrangement is simple. By using the Elder Octopus card to pay the fare, the elderly can get the fare rebate automatically by using the same Elder Octopus card to take a bus trip, consume or reload after ten working days. Senior Citizens can have more bus route choices to enjoy the festive season and outing with friends and family.
On 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 and 27 December, KMB will offer passengers free rides with an Elder Octopus card on Cross-Harbour Routes operated by KMB and all R Routes through the“Rebate-after-ride” arrangement. By using the Elder Octopus card or relevant Octopus products to pay the fare, the elderly can enjoy a $2 fare concession through the ways as below.
- Using the same Elder Octopus card to pay the fare on all KMB and LWB buses;
- A mobile device equipped with “Octopus” App*;
- Consume or reload at all 7-Eleven stores;
- Octopus PC Reader;
- Octopus Service Point at designated MTR stations and shopping malls, as given at the Octopus website.
Besides offering free rides, KMB staff members will go to the following bus stops on 4 December, to introduce some simple steps to use App1933 to the elderly. The elderly can get the bus information more easily. Details are as follows:
