KMB continues thorough sterilisation on buses to fight the pandemic

KMB has been carrying out disinfection work in our bus compartments through a multipronged approach as we care about the health of our passengers and staff members. Given that the development of the COVID-19 pandemic in Hong Kong is of grave concern due to a new variant, KMB has taken a series of measures to safeguard our passengers and staff.

KMB has been using the anti-microbial coating technology to conduct long-lasting disinfection work for the entire fleet. Diluted bleach and antiseptic solution are also used to clean handrails, windows, floors, and seats on buses. Air-conditioning systems on buses are equipped with electronic air filters to remove germs and dust. KMB has also stepped up cleaning the filters during the pandemic. Passengers can open double-deck bus window vents to enhance ventilation and use sanitisers installed in bus compartments and bus stops.

Moreover, if frontline staff members are not able to come to work due to the mandatory testing, they should follow orders from the authority and stay at home. Salaries will not be affected.

Andrew Kwan, Operations Director of KMB, said, “KMB has stayed vigilant over the past two years. We promise to carry out disinfection measures in bus compartments to provide clean bus interiors and services to citizens, fighting the pandemic together.”
