KMB launches half-fare night-time promotions

As the social distancing measures are being relaxed, The Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Limited (“KMB”) has launched a half-fare discount scheme on night-time rides. The “Rebate-after-ride” arrangement allows passengers holding Octopus cards can enjoy a 50% discount on bus fares on 19 designated routes during the promotion period.

From 1 June (Wednesday) to 30 June (Thursday), passengers with Adult, Student, or Child Octopus cards or Octopus products can enjoy high-quality bus journeys at half price by taking 19 designated routes to designated directions from 8:00 p.m. to the last departure every day. Passengers can also enjoy other interchange concessions when taking the relevant routes.

The way of embarking on a half-fare journey is simple. Details are as follows:

1.      Passengers pay the original fare first using Adult, Student, or Child Octopus cards or Octopus products which had sufficient value when boarding KMB designated routes.

2.      The amount of half-fare will be returned to passengers through Octopus App or by tapping the Octopus Card at Octopus Service Points. The fare concession can be received after ten working days and within 30 days.

The promotion is not applicable to passengers benefiting from the Government’s Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme for the Elderly and Eligible Persons with Disabilities (the $2 Scheme).
