Hong Kong Palace Museum opens KMB Route 296D provides Daily Service and introduces New Interchange Discount covering 77 Routes

The Hong Kong Palace Museum (“HKPM”) will open its doors on 2 July (Saturday). KMB Route 296D (Sheung Tak Kowloon Station) will introduce a new interchange discount scheme starting on the same day, up to $10 off. Taking 77 routes from Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories, passengers can directly visit HKPM via transferring to Route 296D.

Direct service to HKPM

Route 296D travels via Museum Drive throughout the day and is currently the only bus route that passes through HKPM and M+ daily, providing point-to-point service. Passengers going to HKPM can alight at the “Hong Kong Palace Museum” bus stop (Platform G1), while those going to M+ can get off at the “M+” bus stop (Platform F1).

From 2 July, passengers who take Route 296D can enjoy the second leg’s fare discount, which is up to $10 off. They should pay with the same Octopus card, credit card, or mobile payment account, and travel to and from the West Kowloon Cultural District by transferring to 77 designated routes at bus stops such as Nathan Road, Kowloon Park Drive, and Western Harbour Crossing. Provide interchange discount at Tseung Kwan O Tunnel Interchange and Kai Tak Tunnel Interchange

Passengers may also take KMB Routes 98, 98D, or 297 to Tseung Kwan O Tunnel Interchange (Platform G1) interchanging Route 296D to the West Kowloon Cultural District, or take Routes 11X, 14X, 213X, 215X, or 219X to Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre (KITEC) (Platform L1) transferring to Route 296D, and enjoy relevant interchange discounts.

Various routes via Western Harbour Crossing

HKPM and M+ are located near Western Harbour Crossing and Kowloon Station (International Commerce Centre). Passengers depart from different areas by taking KMB Routes to Western Harbour Crossing or International Commerce Centre and walk for around 10 minutes after alighting will arrive West Kowloon Cultural District. The return trip is also convenient.
