KMB all-new Ma On Shan Interchange Network covering 14 Routes with a maximum $10 interchange discount

The development in Tai Shui Hang, Ma On Shan and Shap Sze Heung, Sai Sha Road is bringing tens of thousands of residents into the area. KMB prepares for the new districts by introducing the all-new Ma On Shan Interchange Bus Network starting from next Monday (19 September). The network features a bus-bus interchange in Shek Mun that covers 14 routes to and from Sai Kung, Ma On Shan and Tai Shui Hang, with a maximum $10 interchange concession offered. KMB hopes this helps take one step further in improving the bus network in Ma On Shan and that residents in the vicinity will enjoy more convenient and value-for-money bus services.

With the residential projects in Tai Shui Hang, Ma On Shan and Shap Sze Heung, including Nai Chung and Ma Kwu Lam along Sai Sha Road, due to completion in the coming years, the population in the district is expected to increase by tens of thousands. KMB is also preparing for the new districts by enhancing its services in Ma On Shan. On 19 September (Monday), KMB is rolling out the all-new Ma On Shan Interchange Bus Network and “Shek Mun Interchange”. Shek Mun Interchange is the 18th bus-bus interchange location of KMB. Tai Po District Councillor (Sai Kung North), Ben Tam, welcomes and supports the commencement of the new interchange network, “Residents along Sai Sha Road rely on Route 299X to travel to and from Sha Tin Central. With the commencement of the all-new Shek Mun Interchange, they can make use of the interchange discount between Route 299X and other routes for various locations in the urban area, providing more travelling choices and attracting people outside to visit Shap Sze Heung for leisure purpose.”

Utan Wong, KMB Assistant Operations Director (Division 3), believes the all-new Ma On Shan Interchange Bus Network can further encourage passengers to utilise KMB’s extensive bus route network, making their travelling pattern more flexible. “KMB is also planning to straighten the routing of various bus routes serving the vicinity. We will continue to closely communicate with the community and the Government on this issue. We believe such interchange network, together with the interchange discount, can create a synergy effect that offers a more direct and fast service to various locations to our passengers as well as a more efficient allocation of our resources.”

Passengers may call the KMB Customer Service Hotline on 2745-4466 or visit KMB website www.kmb.hk or App1933 for more details.
