KMB all-new Routes 90 and 97 commence on 3 October Direct to Sha Tin and Ma On Shan from Tseung Kwan O
The Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (1933) Ltd. (“KMB”) is pleased to announce Route 90 [Tseung Kwan O (Choi Ming) ⇋ Shek Mun Estate] connecting Tseung Kwan O and Sha Tin (Shek Mun) and Route 97 [Tseung Kwan O (Hong Sing Garden) ⇋ Wu Kai Sha Station] connecting Tseung Kwan O and Ma On Shan will commence service next Monday (3 October), providing a direct service to Sha Tin and Ma On Shan for residents in Tseung Kwan O. The full fare of both routes is only $8.5, offering a ride-10-get-1-free discount as well. Routes 90 and 97 also connect Tseung Kwan O Tunnel Interchange and Tate’s Cairn Tunnel Interchange, where passengers can travel to the entire New Territories East. There will be a commencement event on 3 October which passengers taking the first departures of Routes 90 and 97 will receive souvenirs while stock lasts.
KMB has been continuously enhancing bus services in Tseung Kwan O. The idea of introducing a new bus route plying between Tseung Kwan O and Ma On Shan was introduced back in the 2018-19 Bus Route Planning Programme for Sai Kung District. It was split into two separate routes – Tseung Kwan O to Shek Mun and Tseung Kwan O to Ma On Shan. KMB has been awarded to operate both routes after the tendering procedures. Routes 90 [Tseung Kwan O (Choi Ming) ⇋ Shek Mun Estate] and 97 [Tseung Kwan O (Hong Sing Garden) ⇋ Wu Kai Sha Station] will commence service next Monday (3 October).
Connecting two major interchanges to cover Science Park, Tai Po and North District
Both Routes 90 and 97 will observe Tseung Kwan O Tunnel Interchange and Tate’s Cairn Tunnel Interchange. Passengers can make use of KMB’s extensive bus service network to travel across the entire New Territories East, including Sha Tin Central, Tai Wai, Science Park, Tai Po, North Districts and Tseung Kwan O by interchanging to over 90 KMB routes with discounts enjoyed.

Full fare as low as $8.5 and enjoy one free ride per every 10 trips
KMB’s all new Routes 90 and 97 ply between Tseung Kwan O (Choi Ming) and Shek Mun Estate, and Tseung Kwan O (Hong Sing Garden) and Wu Kai Sha Station respectively. These two routes provide one departure for both directions during morning and evening peak hours. Route 90 departs from Choi Ming Bus Terminus and travels directly to Kwong Yuen Estate, Yu Chui Court, City One Shatin and Shek Mun Estate via Tseung Kwan O Tunnel and Tate’s Cairn Tunnel after observing Sheung Tak and Tseung Kwan O South. Route 97 departs from Hong Sing Garden and travels directly to Tai Shui Hang, Ma On Shan Town Centre and Wu Kai Sha Station via Tseung Kwan O Tunnel and Tate’s Cairn Tunnel after observing Po Lam and Hang Hau.
The full fare of both Routes 90 and 97 is only $8.5, offering a ride-10-get-1-free discount. Passengers riding 10 trips of Route 90 or 10 trips of Route 97 using Adult or Student Octopus cards can redeem a single bus journey coupon of the designated route at Sha Tin Customer Service Centre. Passengers can also enjoy a 10% off discount when purchasing 10 single bus journey coupons of Routes 90 or 97 at Sha Tin Customer Service Centre.

Although Routes 90 and 97 only provide service during the peak hours currently, KMB will enhance the service depending on the patronage of the routes and passenger demand. KMB also hopes to provide more fare discounts to the passengers including the existing Short-journey Two-way Section Fare Scheme in Tseung Kwan O.
Souvenirs for passengers riding on the first departures
KMB is organising an event on the commencement day of Routes 90 and 97. Buses with whole body advertisement promoting these two routes will be deployed to operate the first departures at Tseung Kwan O (Choi Ming) and Wu Kai Sha Station Bus Terminus. KMB is arranging photo props for passengers to commemorate the maiden trips of Routes 90 and 97. Souvenirs are also ready for passengers taking the first departures of both routes while stock last.
